CPC will help you Build Your SHAC
- The second step is developing your School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), which meets monthly to discuss issues surrounding school health and policy implementation.
- The SHAC is comprised of community members, parents, health professionals, teachers, and school health representatives and if appropriately aged, students. Examples of topics are below...
- Minutes from meetings are submitted as documentation.
- Students receive 30 minutes of recess / physical acitivty daily, not to be delivered as a part of lunch recess.
- Students receive a minimum of 30 minutes of recess / physical activity daily, not to be delivered as part of lunch recess.
- Recess / Physical Activity is not used as a form of punishment and may not be taken away as a form of punishment.
- Has the proposed changed been implemented?
- What successes have been demonstrated in this area?
- What are roadblocks or challenges that have made implementation or development particularly challenging.
- Identify and describe any required focal area that has not been implemented and explain why it has not been implemented, roadblocks to implementation, and a plan for future implementation / abandonment.
- The purpose of the narrative is to give Core Purpose Consulting a brief overview of how / if each of the implemented criteria in the subheadings have impacted the school overall and if not, how the SHAC committee plans to address this area of focus.
